2007 was a very good year for Hawkes Bay wine - try the Riverside Cabernet Merlot Hawkes Bay 2007. SILVER MEDAL AIRNZ WINE AWARDS

Leather, cedar and plum on the nose lead to an appealing palate of black currants and coffee which will complement red meat dishes.

Riverside Wines is situated in the Dartmoor Valley in the heart of one of Hawke's Bays best grape growing areas.

Grapes were first planted in the Dartmoor Valley in 1968 and planting has continued to the present day with a current vineyard area of 410 hectares. Ian and Rachel Cadwallader established Riverside Wines in 1989 with the commitment to producing premium wine.

By utilising fruit from their vineyards which produce superb grapes they believed they could better achieve their goals of individuality, complexity, quality and consistency in their wines.

The winery and vineyards are situated on Ian's family farm, "Rosemount", which was settled by his great-great-grandparents in 1851.
