New gourmet, artisan, and boutique food, wine and beer products

05-Oct-2010 We thought you might like to know we have added another est 150 new gourmet, artisan, and boutique food, wine and beer products to our range. You can check these out by clicking on the New Products tab on the blue task bar.

As you may know Food Direct has an estimated 700 gourmet and artisan products in our range that you will struggle to find in a traditional supermarkets. Many of these products are hand made in New Zealand just for kiwis. Food Direct believes strongly in supporting our local artisan and burgeoning Foodie culture.

High quality value addded natural food is something New Zealand does so well. We should have a market place for these locally made gourmet and artisan products. Instead you will find more and more “In House” brands on the shelves at traditional supermarkets. But NOT in Food Direct’s range. We want to support diversity, competition and the Kiwi can do culture that we all cherish.

Please don’t forget you can now order up until 8pm for next day delivery. The only exceptions are Pandoro artisan bread which is made to order must be ordered by 4pm and Foodies chicken range – which is also made fresh to order every day and must be ordered by 12 midday. Please note we do have a few Wilson Hellaby chicken products that can be ordered up until 8pm. However, as we have great specials on Foodies chicken we do recommend you place your order in before midday.


Some great examples of Kiwi Classics in the new range are Molly Woppy's wonderful crisp gingerbread Kiwi - half-dipped in chocolate and in the shape of a kiwi.

Molly Woppy Gluten Free Passionfruit Macaroon - these deliciously light coconut macaroon cookies are blessed with the addition a kiwi favourite “passionfruit” which adds a whole new dimension to their delightful taste... and they're gluten free too!
